Builders Beams R Us FAQs for RSJs and Steel Fabrication

What information do you need for a quote?
A drawing or neat sketch with sizes in millimetres, beam length, section, is preferred. If you don't have this information to hand give us a call and we will help.
I do not have engineer drawings. Can you help?
We fabricate to approved structural designs. If you only have a sketch we can cut and drill to your measurements, but the final design approval should come from your structural engineer or builder in charge.
What sections can you supply?
RSJs including universal beams and universal columns, parallel flange channels, angles, plate, box and flat bar. Tell us what you need and we will advise the best option.
Do you cut drill and weld in house?
Yes. All cutting, drilling and welding is carried out in our Wakefield workshop so we can keep quality high and lead times short.
What finishes are available?
All Steel that leaves our workshop is Shot Blasted as a standard. Primer is available upon request. You can learn more on our Final Preparations page here.

Do you deliver and where to?
Yes. We deliver across the UK. Give us the postcode and we can provide an accurate quote including delivery.
Can I collect from the workshop?
Yes. Collection is available by arrangement. We will confirm when your steel is ready.
How long is the lead time?
Beams are usually turned around in a few working days. More complex fabrications or special finishes may take longer. If you have an urgent enquiry we will do our best to get it completed for you.
Do you make staircases and walkways?
